Summer in IR: CEO Corporate Access Review

The midyear CEO Corporate Access Review is one of the most underused tools in IR.

At many companies, it doesn’t happen. But at Stryker, we had the benefit of sitting down with our CEO each summer to actively review our entire function.

One topic we covered was performance of our corporate access strategy.

Our approach was clear and measurable:

✅ Maintain trailing 12-month exposure to 50% of our targeting universe's purchasing power

✅ Maintain 70% exposure to shares outstanding within that same group

We also tracked how we were leveraging CEO and broader management time – balancing conferences, NDRs, and direct outreach.

The outcome?

We consistently met with more high-impact investors while using less leadership time.

The review wasn’t just a report – it was a chance to demonstrate impact, fine-tune our targeting, and re-focus for the next 18 months.

Management time is too important to leave corporate access on autopilot. Are you reviewing the right metrics?
